This Privacy Policy explains how The Ladder Solutions, LLC ("The Ladder," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the The Ladder mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
The Service is operated by The Ladder Solutions, LLC. The Ladder lets racket sports clubs (tennis, padel, pickleball, squash and similar sports) run internal competitive leagues ("ladders"). Members join their club's ladders, are matched with other members, play in person on the club's courts, climb live rankings, and interact through a club activity feed.

Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and identity: your mobile phone number, used to create and sign in to your account through a one-time verification code.
- Profile: your name, profile photo, club affiliation, and any scheduling or playing preferences you choose to add.
- Competition data: the ladders you join, match results and scores you report, challenges you send or accept, and your ranking history.
- Content you post: photos, comments, and reactions you add to the activity feed, and messages you send through in-app chat.
- Payment information: when you register for a paid season, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number; we receive limited confirmation details such as whether a payment succeeded and the amount.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: basic technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and how you use features of the Service, used to operate, secure, and improve the app.
- Push notification token: a device identifier used to deliver notifications about matches, challenges, and club activity.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you by phone.
- To run the ladders: matchmaking, rankings, challenges, scores, and seasons.
- To power the activity feed and social features, and to deliver in-app chat.
- To send you notifications (push and, where applicable, SMS) about matches, challenges, deadlines, and club activity.
- To process season registration payments through Stripe.
- To provide support, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Information visible to others
The Ladder is a community product. Some information is shared with other members of your club by design:
- Your name, profile photo, and ranking are visible to other members of ladders you join.
- Your match results, scores, and match history appear in rankings and the club activity feed.
- Photos, comments, and reactions you post to the feed are visible to members of your club.
Please only share content you are comfortable making visible to your club community.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

User content, reporting, and blocking
The activity feed allows members to post photos, comments, and reactions. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behavior. Within the app you can report content and block other users. We review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts that violate our terms. To report a concern, contact [email protected].
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update your profile information in the app.
- Account deletion: you can delete your account directly within the app. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we must retain certain records (for example, payment records) to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations.
- Notifications: you can manage push notifications in your device settings and opt out of non-essential messages.
- Regional rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information (such as access, correction, deletion, or portability). To exercise these, contact us at the email above.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion we remove or de-identify your data, retaining only what is required for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International users
We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
